September 4, 2012 in General
The Emergency Fire & Rescue Unit has been heavily involved with the Civil Protection Department during the heavy rains and immense floodings that have hit the Maltese Islands yesterday, the 3rd of September 2012.
Dispatching the two Fire Engines in the morning and a rescue vehicle and a Fire Truck later on in the afternoon, the unit tended to various flooding jobs in private homes and commercial businesses as instructed by the CPD’s control room. Other assistance to people and displacement of vehicles was also done along the course of the day.
The unit’s management would like to thank all its volunteers for their dedication and hard work yesterday. Working in such weather conditions, especially during the heavy rains, is not easy but thanks to everyone’s professionalism each of the tasks given to EFRU by the CPD was safely completed in a timely manner.
