The Emergency Fire & Rescue Unit (E.F.R.U.) will be taking part in a nation-wide exercise being held by the Civil Protection Department (CPD) tomorrow, Saturday November 3rd. The purpose for such is to test its members, volunteers and resources in the event of a major emergency scenario.

EFRU will be deploying three units namely; A Rope Rescue Unit; an Urban Search & Rescue Unit (USAR) and a Medium Search and Rescue Unit (MUSAR). In addition to the units mentioned, a volunteer member of the organisation will be forming part of the K9 Search & Rescue team and another two will take care of the Humanitarian Aid needs of all those participating. An EFRU Doctor together with an advanced First Aid Member will be on standby.

The CPD has warned the public that they may come across several emergency vehicles, but they should not be alarmed.
