erasmuslogoMEUSAC-Logo-FormattedThe Emergency Fire and Rescue Unit (EFRU) is a highly active Voluntary Rescue Organisation, set up only 9 years ago and registered with the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations as VO/0018.  Today, the EFRU boasts a highly focused and closely knit team of members who work incessantly towards its advancement in rescue expertise, networking both locally and abroad, as well as on the development of the team itself.

Through a team effort, the EFRU has managed to secure funds as project leader, in order to implement a cross-European project entitled ‘Synergising European Volunteer Rescue Teams – A Rescue Operations Manual’. This project will see the following teams participating as partner organisations: Escola Portuguesa de Salvamento (EPS Team Portugal), Edelweiss (Italy), Elite Special Task Force of Greece (EP.OM.E.A.), the Cyprus Civil Protection Volunteer Team and Serve On (UK).

The EFRU would like to express its gratitude to the Malta EU-Steering & Action Committee (MEUSAC),which assisted the EFRU team in both the application compilation and the project plan,to ensure the success of the project application.  Thank you MEUSAC!

Now, all the teams involved and respective members shall be rolling up their sleeves higher up than usual to put their minds to work on a highly challenging but target oriented project that shall benefit the European Community.
