The course is being given by Keith and Carol Warwick, professional instructors registered with the Assocation of Pet Dog Trainers in the United Kingdom. The instructors flew over to Malta this morning from England, and have extensive experience in training dogs for Search and Rescue.

K9 handlers were given intensive lectures and practical sessions on training techniques. The instructors assessed K9 Lady and K9 Danko – dogs currently undergoing training in Search and Rescue – and gave their handlers some tips to aid in training.

The new generation of Search and Rescue dogs – four 9-week old puppies adopted by E.F.R.U. volunteers – were also assessed and demonstrated their potential.
