Let’s Do It – May 2012
May 2, 2012 in General
The Junior Chamber International – Malta (JCI) have coordinated a clean up campaign at ‘Majjistral Nature and History Park’ on Tuesday the 1st of May 2012.
This four hour event, entitled ‘Let’s Do It – Malta,’ saw over 80 participants cleaning the rocky coastline and part of the vast open landscape together with the barracks which lead to the park.
The Emergency Fire & Rescue Unit (EFRU) supported this campaign by making it as safe as reasonably possible to all participants. Two units were deployed on scene; namely the unit’s ambulance which was equipped with the necessary First Aid supplies and a rescue vehicle equipped with Cliff Rescue equipment.
Thankfully enough the Cliff Rescue Team within EFRU did not report any accidents whilst the First Aiders were called in to assist where necessary. No serious injuries were reported.

EFRU supported JCI Malta on the Lets Do It Campaign which was held on the 1st of May at the Majjistral Nature Park.
THE EFRU team came with two units and around 10 staff, all qualified in “emergency rescue” mode. First aiders constantly patrolled the 3km squared area and offered support whenever needed.
An EFRU vehicle also constantly patrolled all the area while distributing water as support to all the Lets Do It volunteers. An ambulance was also on stand-by strategically placed in the core of the activity.
Luckily no major incidents were reported.
I fully recommend the EFRU team for any support needed for any event as their professional approach is an asset to any event, were peace of mind is needed!
Well Done!
Hi Jonathan, am very glad to note that you were so happy with our dedicated service.
In addition to your comment, I would like to take this opportunity to Thank our dedicated volunteers who are always there when asked to attend such duties.
Without you the Unit wouldn’t be so successful, so professional or so supportive to such initiatives.
