A team of our #volunteer #firefighters have been supporting the Civil Protection Malta this morning, in their firefighting efforts at this Wasteserv incident. Work is ongoing.

We take this opportunity to encourage all residents and passers-by to keep their home/office windows and car windows closed to minimise exposure to the toxic smoke.

Training Saturdays at EFRU: Every #Saturday is a busy day over at the EFRU HQ but yesterday was a special one indeed. In the morning we launched the second volume of the #Rescue #Manual, 'Rescue Techniques for Emergency Response'. This was developed as part of a second #Erasmus+ funded project which saw nine organisations from different countries, all members of #EVOLSAR, working together for one goal. Another successful launch which saw attendees online from different parts of the world as well as other local interested parties, such as the Civil Protection Department and other NGO's, attending physically whilst adhering to social distancing guidelines as issued by the health authorities. The EFRU committee would like to thank all those involved in this publication for their hard work and dedication. The end result is another professional edition which was praised by all those attending the launch.
The afternoon was business as usual for the volunteers who attended their final firefighting training session before the assessment sessions being targeted for the next two Saturdays. Good luck boys and girls, you got this!

Training Saturdays at #EFRU: Following the intense #training for the basic rescue course, this weekend was time to focus on admin and maintenance works at the HQ; but this didn't stop the K9 #team from continuing with their Sunday morning scheduled training. Although this novice team is still working towards the standards given to them by #EVOLSAR members @serveonirt during this year's visit to assess the units K9's, their progress is very evident - thanks to the #dedication of their handlers. K9 Scout, K9 Bobby and K9 Sam are as #determined to save lives as much as their handlers and are proving to be a success throughout their training program. A HUGE well done to all the EFRU's K9's, their handlers, decoys and instructors. Keep up the excellent work!

Despite this weekend's high temperatures, our #volunteers continued their work on the fire trucks in an effort to have all the #EFRU #vehicles in shipshape condition should the needs arise. Furthermore, the weekly #fitness #training and more admin and cleaning of the premises was also organised before resuming our #basic #rescue training.
